以德服人

热的上气 (heat mood)
上海最近实在太热了！上班下班时，可以感觉到身后豆大豆大的汗滴在身上滑下来，不夸张。所以，人的心情肯定也会跟着暴躁烦闷起来。这几个星期，我已经看见2宗几乎打起架来，3宗男女吵架了。可想而知，这一种热，不是马来西亚的热。
Shanghai is really too warm lately. Nowadays I can really feel my sweat dripping down behind my back literally. Therefore, people's mood definitely is not that good at all due to the heat wave. Only these few weeks, I have already witnessed couple of fighting, and 3 cases of couples yelling at each other. You could imagine, this kind of heat is not the same as in Malaysia.

买他臭脸 (bitchy face)
有时候，在商场或一些小超市买东西时都会有一种像一巴掌打过去销售员脸上的冲动。问一些简单的问题，他们会一副不屑的臭样子（好像家里死了谁一样，或是家里人死是因为你而起的感觉），眼也不看你一下，就说不知道或完全不说而动一动头摇两下。愿意回答你时，却又不耐烦。真是的！
Sometimes when I buy something in shopping mall or supermarket, I always have the tendency to slap some of the sales. When I asked them some questions like where to pay, they normally show me some very annoyed or hateful face (like someone have passed away in their home because of me), not even looking at me, and said don't know or just shook their heads. Alright, when they really are willing to answer you, they definitely are not patient at all like I have bothered them doing some other more important stuff. Seriously!

吃他脾气 ("great" service)
有一些服务员的服务态度也是“至上”的。点菜时，答非所问，买单时，满手慢脚，叫他加茶水时，又不大愿意。而且，还一副鄙视的眼神在你身上打量打量。真不明白。还好，这一些服务员都不多。运气比较糟的时候才会遇上的。而我也只遇上一两次而已。
Some waiters/waitresses' service are definitely "great". During ordering, they answer the wrong question, when asking for bill, they are slow like turtles, when asking for adding some water in the tea pot, they are normally very reluctant. Sometimes, they even give some discriminating glance. What the hell is that? Luckily this type of waiters/waitresses are rare from my experience. Only when you are really unlucky you could really meet them. As for me, I have only met them one or two times so far.

好奇眼光 (curious stare)
走在路上，你会不经然的发觉，有时候会有一些好奇（不知是好奇呢，还是鄙视）的眼光在你身上打量。尤其是一些上了年纪的阿姨阿叔。真的很奇怪。我又不是洋人，也穿得不奇怪，真不明白为什么。路上还说因为是一瞬间的事，没有什么在意，但是在电梯，我也遇过。奇怪奇怪。
When I walk on the street, sometimes I feel like someone is really staring at me. I don't know if they are curious of the way I am wearing (which by the way is damn normal) or the way I look (which by the way I look Chinese like them). Especially those uncles and aunts, who are in their mid 40s or 50s. Alright, it is OK to ignore them on the street, but how about when I am stuck in an elevator with one of them? Weird!

最后要说的是，还是以德服人最为安全。那知道若你得罪了服务员，他在你得菜肴上加了料对吧？而最近，因为家里睡房的空调坏掉了，跟房东接触的比较多。因为我愿意在预定的时间的一个月前给他3个月的租金，加上对他礼貌相待，他才愿意说帮我尽快地把空调修好。所以，以德服人虽然在某一程度上会吃了一点亏，但是心理上还是会好过一点的，而且不是不报是时候未到。
Well, I want to say is, it is safest to treat people with dignity and respect even though they treat you like shxt. Who knows what happen if you have let your mood get over you and scold the crap out of the waiters/waitresses. I mean they might give you some extra ingredients in your dishes. Recently, the airco in my bedroom is broken. The landlord is kind enough to ask repairman to come and fix it as soon as possible. I guess it is because I am willing to pay him one month in advance for 3-month rent (he was in need of some cash), and I treat him really with respect (even though sometimes he acts like hell). So, even though I would have to accept some lost (emotionally especially) when I was treat like hell, but I guess if I respond with respect, somehow I feel I am a bigger man than those people. In fact, who said good deed won't bring good income?
