Been back few days now (in fact will be leaving in 2.5 days), I realized Malaysia traffic is so in order. In fact, when I drove on the road, surprisingly I felt relaxed and happy. I actually enjoyed driving (compared to before I certainly swore a lot on the road). Even though I was stuck on the road due to traffic congestion, I didn't feel annoyed at all. Somehow, people on the road seemed to be more civilized. For instance, they use signal to indicate turning left or right, they even raise their hands to another driver to show gratitude or apology, etc. Is it that Malaysia traffic culture has improved a lot? I guess it was me. When I was living in Netherlands, I got used to that kind of so-called highly civilized lifestyle. Therefore, when I came back, I certainly couldn't adapt to so-called lower-standard lifestyle. Now that I have stayed in China for 7 months now, somehow I got familiar with the lifestyle over there - fast-paced and not-care-of-others-most-of-the-time. Maybe, Malaysia has certainly improved a bit. But, I still believe that the main reason is that I have some comparison. In addition, Shanghai is really too crowded, therefore the chances of conflict certainly is much higher.
