Another career path?

因为机缘的关系，我被我们的PR推荐为我们公司某一个活动的主持人。她认为我的个性很适合。当时的我也没有什么去考虑就接受了这一个临时的差事，还胆粗粗的在没有什么所谓的准备的情况下迎战了。可能是因为那一个活动不是那么formal的关系，所以想想也不会有什么大问题，即便是大老板在场也无所谓。还好，出来的效果竟然另我的PR及我的大老板满意。我自己也觉得很庆幸。而且，大老板还夸奖了我一下。不过，我想从前的我肯定不会有这一种胆量的，人老了，胆也粗了！后来最近，我们的PR有接近我说想要我来临的一个managers的dinner function里做主持人。这一次我比较却步了，因为这一次听起来还真formal。但是PR说是想要entertain我们的manager们，所以不需要太介意。而我也答应了一半，说如果她找不到一些比较pro的主持人的话，才来找我吧。说真的，最近都会想我是不是应该来一个career的转变，可能会有更上一层楼的作用。我心中想的是往business development那边去，但是也许做一个PR好像很不错的样子，而且也挺富挑战性的。说说就好，成事不打可能。要装闲并重对我来说是不可能的。

It happened by chance. Our PR asked me in one of our company activities to be an MC. She thought with my characteristics I am very suitable for this job. Well, I wasn't really thinking much back then and accepted this temporary job. So, without any preparation, I went up stage and took on the task. In hindsight, I really couldn't imagine where my guts were from. Maybe because the activity was not that formal even though our big boss was there. Anyway, the results were unexpectedly good, at least not as bad as I would imagine. I felt relieved and fortunate. Our PR and even our big boss were satisfied with my performance. I don't think younger version of me would have the brevity to accept this task. I guess when we turn older, we will has no shamed of ourselves. The story does not end there. Lately our PR looked for me again and asked me to be an MC again for the coming dinner function of all kinds of managers. I was a bit reluctant because it seems to be this function is very formal. But, she said it is for entertaining the managers. Anyway, I told her that if she cannot find a more pro MC, I will help her. Honestly I am thinking about changing my career lately. I am more inclined to business development kind of thing, but I guess to be a PR is not such a bad idea at all. In fact it is quite a challenging task. Just a thought, which will never be true anyway. I mean I don't have that mindset or mentality to be able to stay formal and informal simultaneously.
