Japanese is very creative with games. I really really think so. Lately this puzzle games mixed with some mysterious element and RPG game play is very popular in Japan. "Professor Layton and the Curious Village" or in Japanese "レイトン教授と不思議な町" (pronounced in Layton Kyouju no Fushigi na Machi) is about a professor named Layton and his assistant Luke, and their adventure in a weird mysterious village. During all their adventures, you will stumble on a series of interesting puzzle games (or the so-called IQ games). Honestly, I was not a big fan of IQ games because (well) I am pretty stupid with those. But, I guess this is quite fun because of the whole story wrapping around all these quiz. Maybe soon I could share some of these IQ things with you here.
Next movie. Oh, Stardust is a great movie. Well, I am not really into the whole-love-chick-flick thing. Luckily this movie has a number of surprises that I really really like. First of all, Michelle Pfeiffer is in the movie! Oh she is still very attractive even though she is in her 50s (I guess). And, this time she is playing some evil witch, with those ugly makeups and disgraceful acts. Still, she steals the scenes if you asked me (much better than that Claire Danes). Of course, those special effects in the movie certainly have added some extra points. But, I guess Michelle is still the reason I watched this movie.
Now, music. "Listen to Eason Chan" is certainly a very nice surprise for me (thanks to Ah Tee's recommendation). The music is very different from what he used to sing - very diversified, very colourful, very dynamic, and very interesting. I certainly enjoy the whole album (even the remixed of those songs). Well, if you want to know my favourite, I would say my first choice is "时代巨轮". I love the whole 进行曲式 style, from very flat to very high! Then, the second choice would be "演唱会". It is very noisy yet very entertaining. I think Eason certainly has found another path for his music career.
Last but not least, gadget. So, I have visited some gadget malls here in Shanghai. And, I have always wanted a small, compact, good enough laptop. Now, ASUS seems to have answered my calling. ASUS Eee PC certainly is small (only 7" small screen) and light (only 0.9 KG). Even though with small HD (only 4G or upgradeable to 8G), but since it is using solid state memory, so less power consumption and less noise. In fact, it has a number of expandable slots or USB ports. It runs some sort of Linux system but it could be changed to Microsoft Windows XP without any problem. Well, this type of system really is for fun (or maybe sometimes work). So, I don't think I am going to buy it, but it is nice to just admire it.One week, short yet compact.
