交通意外

昨天，也就是新年的第三天，我留在办公室里到6点钟，决定错过班车，搭ferry bus到最近的地铁站搭地铁回家。结果，在接近地铁站的路上，我坐的ferry bus就撞到一辆 van 的后面。原因是那一辆 van 忽然刹车要换道，而司机又没有留意到。还好，在那一刹那及时刹车才没有造成严重的交通意外。说实在，几乎每一天在路上都会碰到交通意外。要怪就怪大家在路上好象不能错过一分一秒似的抢道超车。没有受什么伤真的是不幸中之大幸。

Yesterday, i.e., the third day of the new year, I stayed in the office until 6pm to take the ferry bus to the metro station, where I could take the metro to go home. On the way near the metro station, the ferry bus hit the back of a van accidentally. The van broke suddenly because it apparently wanted to change lane, and our driver didn't really see that until the last second. Luckily he was able to stop the ferry bus instantly for not causing a very big accident (considering he was really driving fast). Frankly, I could witness an accident almost every day on the road here. Well, people here really seem like they don't waste even one second on the road. So, what do they do? They rush, cut, squeeze the road with their cars -- no tolerance.
