Two albums of two genre

Thanks to SK/0617, I actually have almost forgotten about Alanis Morissette. After her big bang first album "Jagged Little Pills", I think I haven't heard any of her songs for a while, really a long while. I totally agree with SK/0617's comment, "it is like she has come back with another bang" on this album. Somehow, I do think this one has exceeded her first album, which is a good thing in fact. Well, the song that I love most out of this album is definitely not of her familiar style, which is "Giggle Again for No Reason". But, the song just hit me, probably because of its soft-techno beat. And, again, this song from my point of view has dug up another side of Alanis, another vocal style of her unique voice.

Because of the gym keeps playing her only song "Umbrella", which somehow fits into the mood of doing gym, leaving a deep impression in my brain. So, I have decided to try her album, a very stranger R&B singer artist for me, Rihanna. Her latest album "Good Girl Gone Bad". Frankly, I didn't really hold much expectation or anticipation to this album mainly because somehow from my own personal point of view, R&B shares the same core, and thus, sound similar to me. Well, I am not wrong actually. In this album, only the big hit "Umbrella" stands out for me (probably because I have listened to it in the gym too many times). Others are just... very vague to me after listening. One surprise though, Maroon 5 actually re-sang one of their hit songs, "If I never see your face again" with her. The chemistry is surprisingly nice, and fresh. Nice trial to put two different genre artists into one song seamlessly.
