Watching...
Crime-solving shows, my favorite, no secret there! And, nowadays, crime-solving shows have become of quite a wide variety. 2009 has brought us some very interesting crime-solving shows (well, one of which technically not so much of crime-solving).
The Mentalist: Patrick Jane uses his charm, his distinctively sharp observation skill, and sometimes his skill in doing some sort of hypnosis, he solves crime. He brought those felons to what they deserve, i.e., justice. It is quite interesting to see him do his thing.
The Closer: Brenda Leigh Johnson's weird personality, interesting yet heartfelt people skill, more importantly her unbeatable interrogation skill that could bring the felons to talk certainly are the main points of the show. She really is fun to watch (well, sometimes could be a bit annoying).
Lie to Me: Cal Lightman probably might be a popular character because he has no boundary (just like Patrick). Yet, he has a very sharp observation (also like Patrick). The distinct selling point of him is that he could tell you are lying (or not) by looking at your body language and the so-called microscopic expression. Quite fun to watch!
Leverage: This is not really a crime-solving show, not technically. A team formed by a con-woman who can be anyone Sophie Devereaux, an acrobatic expert thief Parker, a can-hack-everything-electronic-related hacker Alec Hardison, and a martial artist who can kick everyone ass Eliot Spencer, led by a smart intelligent planner organizer Nathan Ford trying to do the right thing for those unfortunates, who have been bullied by the system or by those rich people. I enjoy the chemistry between these characters, and definitely the twist in every episode of the show.
Somehow, all these characters in all these shows is a partial of my all-time favorite, Robert Goren in Law and Order Criminal Intent. This show won't be coming back till summer, and I can't wait!
