I live at Zhong Yuan Liang Wan City. Frankly, it is really a convenient location. Even though maybe the population might be a bit crowded and too "wide-variety". The scenery actually isn't that bad. My friend Soon Meng said it is such a quiet place, which is surprising to me because we could still hear the vehicles honking like mad outside. But, I guess, if you don't think about it too much, it is not that bad at all. Normally, I take the metro (Line 3/4 from Zhong Tan Road Station) to work. But, these few days I have decided to take the bus (Line 801). It is indeed very cheap, only 2 RMB. In fact, since I go to work quite early (around 7am), there bus is not that crowded at all. However, I still need to walk around 5-10 minutes to my office from where I get off the bus. Considering it is more or less the same distance of where I get off Line 3/4 metro to my office, it is not that bad. However, I will never take bus to get home after work. First of all, crowded, very crowded. Secondly, need to wait very long. And, thirdly, traffic jam. Therefore, I still use the metro to get home after work. Sometimes, if we change a tiny albeit trivial thing in our daily routine live, you could feel a bit different. For instance, change the route to work. I really agree with that! When I was still working in Netherlands, sometimes I would just take a different route to cycle to work or from work. It certainly gave me a break-the-routine kind of nice feeling. Maybe we should do that more often.

i have experienced the Subway Line 1 during peak hours.. if the passengers would have queued up, it would be a lot better, but the fact is - chinese mainlanders never bother to queue up (they have always been taking 一馬當先 as their principle of life) - and that is really crazily bad experience!!

ha ha ha ha :D when i think about it, it is kinda interesting experience, but of course if you have to do that everyday it would be a torture of life... luckily line 3/4 is not that crowded yet... and in fact the reason i go to work so early is because i want to avoid rush hour :) so far, it is working... :D
